This 15th edition of the Pollux Awards has been pre-screened by the curators of the Worldwide Photography Gala Award and juried by Julio Hirsch-Hardy, director of the Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography. A total of 439 photographers from 41 countries have submitted 3,505 photographs for consideration of the pre-selection team of the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards and the final selection of the juror. In this occasion, the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards has waived or discounted entry fees of around 38% of the total amount of submitters, most of the cases related to the pandemic and consequent diminishing of work.

Joseph-Philippe Bevillard (www.jpbevillard.com), born in USA and living in Clare, Ireland is the recipient of the Pollux Awards in the Professional Section, and David Nam Lip Lee from Malaysia is the recipient of the Pollux Awards in the Non-Professional Section.

According to the rules of this edition of the Award, both awardees will have a fully-paid solo exhibition in Barcelona at the FotoNostrum Gallery next March 2021 in occasion of the 6th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography.

JOSEPH-PHILIPPE BEVILLARD. Recipient of the 15th Pollux Awards in the Professional Section for his Series ‘Irish Travellers’, In March 2017, Irish Travellers group have been formally recognized as an ethnic group. Today, they are still facing racism, discrimination, hardship by society and high suicide rates. Travellers are very proud of their culture. With this series that Joseph-Philippe did, first in B&W and then in color, for over 11 years, he represents these people through unique images photographs. His goal is to continue to work with these families as well as other members that he encounters, and perhaps let the settled people have more understanding of their unique culture.



DAVID NAM LIP LEE. Recipient of the 15th Pollux Awards in the non-Professional Section for his documentary images. David, who earned Discovery of the Year 2016 by IPA, focus in documenting different cultures, configuring awesome stories with his camera.
